2018

Won the Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology

Thanks to the outstanding innovative applications of intelligent manufacturing in various business areas such as research and development, production, and operation, the achievements in the intelligence and automation of various application scenarios have a demonstration effect in the same industry. The company has won the honor of the Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which marks the company's leading position in intelligent manufacturing for auto parts industry enterprises and in the production of high-performance and low-energy-consumption products.

In order to adapt to the development of high-power models, the company has been painstakingly researching and developing integral forged steel pistons, has developed more than 20 related patented technologies and formed serialized products. During the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up in the machinery industry, the forged steel piston developed by the company was selected as the "Outstanding Product of the Machinery Industry in the 40 Years of Reform and Opening Up".

Set up a forged steel wire production workshop

Machining Factory No. 4, covering an area of 26,000 square meters, is the steel piston production workshop of Bohai Piston Co., Ltd.

2013

Set up a car piston production workshop

Machining Factory No. 3 is the specialized production workshop of the company for high-end passenger vehicle pistons. Meanwhile, it is also the pilot workshop for the company's implementation of the construction of a smart factory. The workshop covers an area of 15,000 square meters and has an annual production capacity of over 15 million pieces. It boasts a magical production line and is a smart workshop integrating automated production, intelligent inspection, and intelligent logistics. 

    

Innovative breakthroughs in laser remelting technology

Our company has achieved a breakthrough in laser technology in the field of piston manufacturing and launched the remelted piston for the combustion chamber throat. By using laser to melt and rapidly cool the aluminum alloy, the microstructure becomes dense, which improves the high-temperature performance, approaching that of the forged steel piston, while having a lower cost and greatly enhancing its market competitiveness.

Meanwhile, our company owns the patented technology for throat remelting. The fatigue life of the throat has been increased by 300%. Since 2013, we have been supplying products to many well-known manufacturers. Currently, we have six production lines with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million pieces. 

2012

Establish a national-local joint engineering laboratory

With the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission, the company established a national-local joint engineering laboratory. It has been continuously exploring in the experimental development of engine core components and constantly promoting new high-efficiency and green power models to enter the market. 

Bohai Piston successfully entered the supply systems of two renowned automobile manufacturers, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.

2004

Won the Cummins 6σ President's Design Award in the United States

The piston with ring insert + internal cooling + bushing is designed by installing the copper alloy bushing into the piston pin hole with an interference fit on the basis of the ring insert and internal cooling technology, which strengthens the anti-fatigue performance of the piston pin hole. This special piston developed for the ISLe series diesel engines of Dongfeng Cummins has successfully replaced the articulated piston with a steel head and aluminum skirt produced by KS Company in Germany. Moreover, this project has won the Cummins 6σ President's Design Award in the United States.

Usher in a new era of domestic forged steel pistons

Our company leads the new era of forged steel with independent intellectual property rights. Since 2004, we have successively made breakthroughs in friction welding, laser welding and brazing technologies. We have become the only company in the industry that has mastered these three welding capabilities and owns independent intellectual property rights. In 2017, the successful research and development of the integral forged steel-friction welded piston was the first application in the domestic engine field, which significantly improved the performance of engines. Meanwhile, the innovative application of laser welding technology has increased the pressure that pistons can withstand to above 25MPa, opening a new chapter for laser technology in the field of piston manufacturing. 

2001

The company has set up a postdoctoral research workstation

Approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China, the company has established a postdoctoral research workstation. Focusing on the research and development of internal combustion engine piston technology, it has successively cooperated with many institutions of higher learning such as Shandong University and Hohai University to jointly cultivate high-level postdoctoral talents and continuously promote the progress of internal combustion engine technology. 

1999

Obtained the recognition as a national-level enterprise technology center

Upon examination and approval by the State Economic and Trade Commission and other departments, the company's enterprise technology center has become the technology center of the enterprise (group) in the sixth batch that enjoys preferential policies. 

1995

Solve the problem of ultra-high specific power engines

Research and development of composite pistons: Ceramic fiber is used for local reinforcement, which significantly improves the high-temperature tensile strength and fatigue strength of the throat part of the combustion chamber on the piston top surface. The local reinforcement with ceramic fiber alloy has solved the problem of cracking at the throat of the combustion chamber of engines for special purposes (ultra-large displacement diesel engines with a specific power exceeding 50kW).

The company obtained the right of self-support export

The company obtained the right of self-support export and began to supply products directly to overseas customers.

1986

The champion in terms of production and sales volume in the domestic piston industry

Bohai Piston has become the champion in terms of production and sales volume in the domestic piston industry and has maintained this position until now (it has continuously held the leading position in the domestic industry for 38 consecutive years until 2024). 

1963

Designated production of pistons

In August 1963, the trial production of Q581 pistons began, and the products passed the appraisal in September. Since then, the former Beizhen Agricultural Machinery Parts Factory was renamed as "Beizhen Piston Factory", which officially marked the birth of Binzhou Bohai Piston. 

1951

The establishment of a factory

The Iron and Wood Factory of Huimin Regional Industrial Company (formerly the Iron and Wood Factory of Guangrao County) merged with the Dazhong Iron Factory of Huimin County and the Machinery Repair Factory of Huimin Labor Camp, and then relocated to Beizhen. It was named Beizhen Iron and Wood Factory.
