 The Technology Center of Binzhou Bohai Piston Co., Ltd. is the first national-level enterprise technology center in the domestic piston industry. It owns the first post-doctoral scientific research workstation in the industry and has established the first piston comprehensive performance laboratory with the most complete functions in the domestic auto parts industry. It mainly carries out the research and development of new piston products, the development of special piston manufacturing machines, the research and application of materials, the comprehensive performance tests of pistons, the development of piston processing techniques, standardization work, and competitive intelligence work, etc. 

There are currently 352 staff members of various types. Among them, there are 4 doctoral students, 13 engineering application researchers, 40 senior engineers, and 4 people who enjoy special government allowances. A number of leading scientific and technological talents in the piston industry have been cultivated, forming a scientific and technological development team with a reasonable age structure and a comprehensive knowledge structure.

 

       

Meanwhile, the company has widely cooperated with numerous scientific research institutions and colleges. It has cultivated its own highly educated talents by bringing topics and projects. Successively, 21 people have been sent to Tsinghua University and Shandong University for further studies as master's and doctoral students, strengthening the cooperation among industry, academia, and research, and enhancing the independent innovation ability.

In addition, the company has also hired more than 40 famous experts in internal combustion engines, materials, and other aspects from relevant domestic scientific research institutes and main engine factories in China, as well as 6 foreign experts from Germany and Australia as the company's technical consultants and instructors. Through the introduction of intellectual resources, the product research and development ability has been improved. 

 

       

The company is equipped with advanced piston processing, inspection, measurement and performance testing equipment, such as the Gage2000 coordinate measuring machine, the RONDCOM46A roundness tester, the scanning electron microscope, and the AVL AFA250 experimental system, etc.

Relying on the international advanced software and hardware technology research and development platform, it develops and improves more than 300 new piston products on average every year. The center currently owns 63 patents, among which 10 are invention patents. Every year, the center undertakes key scientific research and tackling key problems projects at the national, provincial and ministerial levels as well as national debt projects.
